Membership at calvary

So if one member suffers, all the members suffer;

if one member rejoices, all the members rejoice

1 Corinthians 12:26

Welcome

At Calvary, we take biblical membership seriously, and we believe that each member plays a vital role in the health and life of the church body.  We exist to be a people committed to the gospel, building community, and taking the gospel to the ends of the earth through missions. We're grateful that the Lord has called you to be a part of His work at Calvary, and we look forward to serving alongside you.

In order to foster community with one another beyond our regular Sunday service, we offer small groups where Bible study and prayer are enriched in a more intimate setting. If you have not already connected through a small group, we would love to help you to do so.

If there's ever any need or prayer you have, please do not hesitate to reach out.

In Him,

Pastor Caleb and the Elders of CBC

TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT THE UNITY OF OUR CHURCH

Having received Christ as my Lord and Savior, having been baptized by immersion, and being in supportive agreement with the vision, mission, strategy and structure, I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the Calvary Baptist Church family. In doing so, I commit myself to God and other members to do the following:

  • By acting in love towards other members
  • By refusing to gossip or engage in divisive behavior
  • By supporting the vision, mission, and leadership of Calvary

Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,  since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God.

1 Peter 1:22-23

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Ephesians 4:29

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Hebrews 13:17

TO SHARE IN THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OUR CHURCH

  • By praying for its growth
  • By inviting the unchurched to get acquainted
  • By warmly welcoming and connecting those who visit

We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers.

1 Thessalonians 1:2

Then the master told his servant, 'Go out to the roads and country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.'

Luke 14:23

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Romans 15:7

TO ENGAGE IN THE MINISTRY OF OUR CHURCH

  • By discovering my gifts and talents
  • By being equipped to serve
  • By developing a servant's heart

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in various forms.

1 Peter 4:10

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-12

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Philippians 2:3-4

TO SUPPORT THE TESTIMONY OF OUR CHURCH

  • By participating faithfully
  • By pursuing a Christ-centered life
  • By giving regularly of my time, talents, and treasure

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day approaching.

Hebrews 10:25

Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in one spirit.

Philippians 1:27
