Women's Ministry Team

CBC Women’s Ministry Exists to Encourage, Engage, and Equip Women in Christ

Encourage women to know . . .

and follow Jesus Christ

Encourage women to grow . . .

in relationship with Christ through discipleship and community

Encourage women to go . . .

and live out their purpose as they serve and reach others for Christ locally and globally

  • OUR VISION

The vision for the Women's Ministry is to actively connect women in the church to share their gifts and talents more effectively and joyfully in ministry, mentoring, teaching, missions, and godly friendships. By coordinating with other ministries in the church we aim to increase awareness of the needs of others, prayer, and unity of minds as we follow Jesus Christ as a people and place of grace.

  • JOin the Team

To become a member of the Women’s Ministry Team, a woman must be in supportive agreement with the vision, mission, strategy and structure of Calvary Baptist Church. She will share in the responsibilities of the ministry, and engage with other members in the ministry to assist women and families. She will be asked to attend monthly meetings, pray for the ministry, and provide ideas and energy to support the activities of the team. She is welcome to come to a meeting to check out the WMT.

Meetings are held in Cafe Diem on the first Monday of each month, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. (Currently in Spring 2021 meetings are on Zoom.) If any woman has questions re: the ministry she is welcome to contact Judy Yarasheski, Chairwoman or Judy Rundle, Secretary,  by contacting the church office at 575-522-7900 or cbcoffice@cbclascruces.org.

  • MENTORSHIP

To encourage women to have deeper commitment to Christ, the WMT is seeking mentors to be trained for a mentoring program which will begin ASAP. Please contact Judy Yarasheski by reaching out to the church office at cbcoffice@cbclascruces.org.

  • Operation Christmas Child

In 2020, WMT ordered Operation Christmas Child supplies, collected donations for Christmas shoeboxes, packed donated items into OCC shoeboxes, and organized a packing party for Christian Challenge students. Calvary Baptist Church supplied 307 shoeboxes filled with gifts to

send with Operation Christmas Child to children in every part of the world.

  • COnferences and Special Events

The Women’s Ministry Team goal is to welcome, encourage, and motivate women from both Calvary Baptist Church and the surrounding area by providing women’s events/mini-conferences each year.

In February, 2019 WMT held an interactive “retreat” called Cozy Mountain Lodge, at the church. In October, 2019 WMT provided opportunity to enjoy brunch and inspirational speaker, Lisa Toney, at SHINE.

A women’s mini-conference, “Come To The Well” and Silent Auction will be held in September 2021. Our speaker will be Carol Sallee who speaks across the United States and has published in numerous Christian books and magazines. The funds raised by the silent auction will go to Youth and Children’s Ministries to support summer youth and children campers.

Please visit the CBC Events page to learn more about upcoming events.

For our 2021 Fall auction, we are asking CBC church members to donate gift cards from their favorite local restaurants and small businesses. Tickets for the mini-conference will be on sale beginning 2-3 weeks prior to the event for $25 apiece. Included in the ticket price includes a morning snack with coffee upon arrival and lunch. Childcare will be available with reservations made by September 14th.

In 2019, WMT supported local area ministries by
    1. Providing lunch for Christian Challenge leaders,
    2. Providing a Ya Whoo! Breakfast (previously known as the Boo-Hoo Breakfast) in August for the parents and grandparents of new and returning Kids in Christ Preschool children,

    3. Providing hot dogs and fixings in the fall for El Shaddai ministry in Juarez.
